Corruption flourished, unchecked under Congress regime: Kavinder

Modi Govt successful in eradicating corruption, transforming lives of general public

Five Panchs among 200 Congress workers join BJP

JAMMU 28 July : The Modi government has achieved remarkable success in curbing corruption and ensuring the efficient implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes. This notable accomplishment highlighted the transformative efforts made by the present government in eradicating pilferage and establishing transparency in benefit distribution.

This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister while addressing a joining programme at the village Sher Garg here today. Baldev Singh Billawaria, Deputy Mayor Jammu and Vinay Gupta former President Jammu district were also present.

The BJP stalwart highlighted that the previous Congress Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi himself admitted that only a small fraction of the funds meant for beneficiaries actually reached them, with the rest being siphoned off. However, the Modi government has successfully put an end to this practice and ensured that the benefits reach the intended recipients promptly and transparently, he said.

In a scathing criticism of the previous Congress regime, Kavinder highlighted how corruption flourished under their governance. He asserted that the Congress-led government failed to take decisive action against corruption, leading to a lack of accountability and transparency in various sectors. “Under the Congress regime, corruption thrived and went unchecked. The lack of accountability and transparency in their governance eroded public trust in the system,” he stated.

The former Deputy Chief Minister emphasised the contrasting approach of the present BJP-led government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in tackling corruption. He commended the government’s unwavering commitment to clean governance and its efforts to bring about systemic changes to curb corruption.

Kavinder asserted that today the effective implementation of DBT has not only minimized leakages and pilferage but has also increased the accountability of welfare schemes. This has resulted in significant progress in reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of society and uplifting their lives through various social welfare initiatives, he added.

Earlier, Kavinder Gupta also welcomed Congress workers, including five Panchs, along with their 200 supporters of Village Dharap, into the BJP fold during the event. He expressed his appreciation for their trust in the BJP and its vision for a prosperous and inclusive India.

The senior BJP leader encouraged the newly joined members to actively contribute to the party’s mission of building a stronger and more equitable India. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to serve the people and work towards addressing the challenges faced by the general public. “BJP is committed to serving the people and addressing their concerns. We value the trust placed in us by the citizens and will continue to work tirelessly to build a prosperous and equitable society,” he added.
