Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu produced 214 page charge-sheet in case FIR No. 63/2023 U/S 420, 120-B RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu in the Court of law for judicial dertermination against accused – Husband-wife duo – viz 1) Jameel Anjum S/o Nasir Ahmed and 2) Sana Mir W/o Jameel Anjum both residents of H.No.45 Naraian Mohalla Jammu for hatching criminal conspiracy and cheating the complainant – Tripta Charak D/o Lt. Sh. Kartar Singh Charak R/o H.No.133, Afghana Mohalla Jammu on the promise of arranging allotment of JDA plot after swindling an amount of Rs. 6 Lakhs from her.

The case originates from a written complaint lodged by Tripta Charak I/C Lecturer DIET Jammu, alleging that accused Jameel Anjum took an amount of Rs. 6.00 lacs from the complainant through cheques on the pretext to arrange allotment of a piece of JDA land (plot) situated at Channi Rama Jammu for which complainant had to get the personal loan sanctioned from the bank and later paid Rs. 3.47 Lakh interest towards the bank. The accused also induced the complainant that he was Public Relation Officer of a Cabinet Minister, in October, 2013. However, the accused neither arranged a piece of JDA plot for her nor refunded the money taken from her as an advance amount.

On receipt of the complaint, a preliminary enquiry was initiated and during the course of enquiry the allegations levelled were prima-facie substantiated, leading to the registration of formal case under relevant sections of law for in-depth investigation. During the course of investigation material evidences were gathered from which it came to fore that the accused Jameel Anjum S/o Nasir Ahmed and Sana Mir W/o Jameel Anjum connived and took an amount of Rs. 6 lakh from the complainant on the pretext of providing JDA plot. On the basis of statements of complainant, witnesses, Bank account statements, and other material records, documents obtained from the concerned departments, it has been proved that accused with malafide and dishonest intention have cheated the complainant on the pretext of providing JDA plot. The culprit is a habitual offender and is involved in 04 more criminal cases.
