Crackdown on drugs: Kathua Police arrests 2 peddlers with Heroin in Khanpur; car seized

KATHUA, 5 March 2024: Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police recovered 33.72 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of Police Station Rajbagh, 2 drug peddlers arrested alongwith narcotics substance got seized on the spot.

On 4 March 2024, an information was received through the reliable sources at P/S Rajbagh that 3 persons Surmu Din and Maradu Din both S/o Haneef Ali and Haneef Ali S/o Dau all R/o Hardo Muthi Rajbagh Tehsil Marheen doing illegal trade of selling Narcotics like Contrband and kept a huge quantity of narcotics substance in their possession and enrouted from Khanpur towards Rajbagh on a car bearing registration number JK08K-0088. Acting swiftly, a Police team of PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border and SHO PS Rajbagh laid down a naka/ checking at Khanpur area.

While frisking 33.72 grams of Heroin (Chitta) narcotics were recovered from their illegal possession.

Thereafter all the recovered narcotics were seized and two drug peddlers were arrested on spot. On this a case vide FIR No. 56/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
