CUJ Empowers Minds with Successful Scientific and Technical Outreach Programme

 JAMMU, 09 October: Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Central University of Jammu organized a Scientific and Technical Outreach programme in  collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).

BARC, a premier institution in nuclear research, has extended its expertise to the students and faculty, enriching their academic landscape and equipping their minds with the tools to make a difference in the world. The programme started with the preliminary round of quiz competition. After that, an inauguration function was held.

BARC delegates delivered lectures on topics Radiation Safety in Health and Environment, Nuclear Reactor, Food Radiation and Innovation & Opportunities in BARC. Two skits on “Nuclear Reactor – Harit urja ka Akshay srot” and “Kum me hai Dum” were also performed. The Scientific and Technical Outreach Programme at Central University of Jammu serves as a testament to the University’s commitment to excellence in education and its mission to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to make a positive impact on society.

The program was organized under the patronship of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. Shri. S. Mondal, Smt. Heema Rao, Mr. Yatin Thakur and others from BARC graced the event. The program was coordinated by Prof. Yashwant Singh, Prof. Vinay Kumar and Prof. Suram Singh.

Prof. Yashwant in his speech highlighted the University achievement during its inception.  In his speech, Prof. Vinay said that this event has inspired our students to aim higher, dream bigger, and embark on a journey of discovery that will shape the future of science and technology. Prof. Suram in his welcome speech emphasizes on the importance of such partnerships in bridging the gap between academia and industry. This collaboration is a testament to the fact that when educational institutions and research centres join hands, they create an ecosystem where innovation thrives, and solutions to complex challenges are born. The winners of the final quiz competition were Mr. Varun Sharma and Mr. Raj Kumar Singh.

Prof. Vinay expressed thanks to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for their unwavering support and partnership in making this initiative a reality. During the valedictory session, Dr. Ashish Kumar presented a comprehensive report of the event. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Manvi Rajput.
