CUJ Organised Extension Lecture on ‘Geographical Prospects of Climate Change’
Jammu, April 15: The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu,organised an Extension Lecture on ‘Geographical Prospects of Climate Change’ in the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Shiksha Bhavan. Dr. Lokinder Singh, Assistant Professor (Geography), Cluster University of Jammu was the Key Speaker in the event.
The programme was initiated with greeting remarks by the Head of the Department, Prof. Asit Mantry, highlighting the significance of such activities in the practical and relevant learning of the students of the Department. He also highlighted the vision of the Patron of the University Prof. Sanjeev Jain who has always been a force behind promoting such activities.
Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean of Students’ Welfare introduced the resource person and offered collaboration with the Cluster University of Jammu for sharing of laboratory and other academic resources.
Dr. Lokinder Singh threw light on the phenomenon of climate change along with the threats it is imposing in the present scenario. He highlighted the role of youth in combating the effects of climate change. The discussion session was followed by the questions and queries session with the students.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Shivali Khajuria and was marked by the presence of the other faculty members of the Education Department, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Aman, Dr. Ravi, Dr. Yad Ram, Dr. Anil, Dr. Arvind, and Dr. Aarushi.
