Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR organises Mushaira, Mehfil-e-Sama at Yusmarg
SRINAGAR, JUNE 21: The Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR in collaboration with Markaz-i-Adab wa Saqafat Chrari Sharif and Yusmarg Department Authority today organised a Mushaira and Kashmiri Folk Music Programme “Mehfil-e-Sama” at the lush green meadows of Yusmarg in Budgam.
Poets including Mushtaq Mehram, Ali Ahsan, Gh. Rasool Ayaz, Gh Qadir Bedar (Abu Naem), Nazir Salik, Mohd Yaseen Madhosh, Gh. Rasool Sadoor, Ab Rasheed Shad, Inayat Gul and Gh. Nabi Adfar participated in the Mehfil e Mushaira.
In the inaugural session, Bilal Mukhtar, Deputy Director Information (PR) said that reciting poetry in breathtaking scenic spots is altogether a wonderful experience. Poets whose verses are nature centric, patriotic and about our culture and ethos, when read in nature gives the real essence of emotions and feelings.
Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain promised to organise more such Poetic Symposia, workshops and other cultural and literary programs in near future so that the legacy of our rich culture is passed to our younger generation.
Thanking Markaz-i-adab wa Saqafat Chrari Sharif and Bilal Khurshid, CEO Yusmarg Department Authority; AE&CO Syed Shakeel Shan said that apart from carrying on the awareness campaigns, the Cultural Unit of DIPR has been supporting and promoting art, culture and literature since its evolution.
Chairman Markaz-i-Adab wa Saqafat Chrari Sharif, Mushtaq Mehram in his address threw light on sufi culture of Chrari Sharif and adjoining areas.
CEO Yusmarg Department Authority, Bilal Khurshid appreciated the Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR for promoting art and culture across the state and outside.
Noted folk singer Feroz Ahmad Shah and party presented melodious sufi songs which captivated the visitors and audience.
