Cyber Cell of Jammu Police thwarts online financial fraud, recovers Rs 1.78 lakh
In a swift move, the Cyber Cell of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu district successfully prevented a significant online financial fraud amounting to Rs. 1,78,200.
The prompt action by the Cyber Cell DPO Jammu safeguarded the entire amount from being stolen by the fraudsters.

The Cyber Cell DPO Jammu exhibited hectic efforts which led to put on hold an amount of Rs 1,78,200/- out of 1,78,200/- in online cyber crime complaint.
According to reports, a complaint was filed regarding the illegal transfer of Rs. 1,78,200. The cybercrime involved the victim being lured into an investment scam through a message on Telegram. The fraudsters initially offered the victim a chance to earn money by writing reviews. After the victim received a small payment for the initial task, they were persuaded to click on a link and invest a larger sum for higher returns. Unfortunately, upon investing Rs. 1,78,200, the fraudsters blocked the victim’s number.
Commendably, the Cyber Cell acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint. Their efforts resulted in successfully freezing the entire fraudulent amount. This prevented the victim from suffering any financial loss.
