‘Day of resolution for freedom from corruption’ observed at JKEDI

SRINAGAR, August 05: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and District Administration, Pulwama, today observed the “Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption” as a part of the Vigilance Awareness initiative of J&K Government.

This commemorative event, marked by unwavering commitment and dedication, signifies a significant milestone in the UT’s journey towards a transparent and corruption-free society.

The ‘Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption’ serves as a clarion call for individuals, organizations, and communities to unite against corruption’s detrimental impact on society and embrace a path of honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct.

During the event, employees from the Anti Corruption Bureau, JKEDI and District Administration actively participated and shared their experiences. They vowed to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and strive to become role models in promoting integrity and accountability within their respective spheres of influence.

This collective commitment reflects the strong determination to safeguard public resources, foster good governance, and build a corruption-resistant environment.

Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director, JKEDI in his address stressed that the Government of J&K has been steadfast in its pursuit of creating a corruption-free governing system through various initiatives, policies, and reforms.

“We must strive for a society where corruption has no place, and ethical values are at the core of our actions. Education plays a key role in fostering integrity, and I’m proud of the Government’s initiatives towards transparency. Initiatives like Public Services Guarantee Act, digitization of records and e-services adopted by the Government among other initiatives are a step further for a corruption free society, “he said. 

Abdul Waheed Shah, Senior Superintendent of Police (HQRS), ACB, gave a detailed and compelling presentation during the event, shedding light on the pivotal role of the Anti Corruption Bureau in combating corruption and ensuring accountability.

With profound knowledge and expertise, he elucidated the various laws, rules, and procedures that empower the ACB to investigate and prosecute corrupt practices effectively. His insights provided valuable guidance to the participants, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of public institutions.

The event was attended by Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Executive Director JKEDI; Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama; Zaffar Hussain Shawl, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora; Chief Prosecuting Officer (Hqrs.) ACB, Officers from ACB South Kashmir among other officials of JKEDI.
