DC Anantnag extends warm welcome to devotees of Maata Kheer Bhavani at Navyug Tunnel
ANANTNAG, MAY 26: The District Administration Anantnag today welcomed the devotees of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Navyug Tunnel, here.
Around 50,000 pilgrims are expected to visit Kheer Bhawani temple and other places across Jammu and Kashmir this year.
The Deputy commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid said that the administration has geared up to take adequate measures, and proper arrangements have been made for the pilgrims at Logripora (Aishmuqam) and Mattan ahead of the Mela.
He said that both these places in District Anantnag expect at least 10,000 pilgrims to visit and do darshan this year.
Every year, Kheer Bhawani melas are organised at five shrines across Kashmir. These are Ragnya Bagwati shrine at Tulmulla in Ganderbal, Ragnya Bagwati shrine at Manzgam in Kulgam, Tripursundri shrine at Devsar in Kulgam, Ragnya Bagwati shrine at Logripora in Anantnag and Ragnya Bagwati temple complex at Tikkar in Kupwara.
Besides, Deputy commissioner Anantnag, Additional SP Kulgam, SDM Dooru, ACD Anantnag and others attended the welcome event.
