DC Anantnag flags-off ‘Mission Life Race’ promoting Fitness & Healthy lifestyle
ANANTNAG, MAY 20: The Department of Social Forestry Anantnag today organized the Mission Life Race, a cross-country run event aimed at promoting fitness and healthy lifestyle.
The race was flagged-off by the District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Anantnag, SF Hamid, showcasing the government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens recognizing the importance of maintaining good health in today’s fast-paced life.
Mission LiFE follows the P3 model, which stands for Pro Planet People, focusing on a lifestyle of the planet, for the planet, and by the planet. It advocates for a circular economy, where the concept of reduce, reuse and recycle is crucial to balance development, economic growth, and sustainability.
The mission makes everyone trustees of the environment, responsible for nurturing and preserving it. It aims to change our collective approach to sustainability by nudging individuals to practice environment-friendly actions, enabling industries and markets to respond swiftly to the changing demand, and influencing government and industrial policies to support sustainable consumption and production.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the significance of staying fit. He reiterated that the Mission Life Race provides an excellent platform for individuals to engage in physical activity and embrace a healthier way of life.
The event witnessed the presence of DFO Social Forestry, Shama Rohi and officers from the Education Department.
