DC Bandipora chairs weekly DLIC meeting of HADP
Approves 117 Cases of Agriculture & 310 Cases of Animal Husbandry Department
BANDIPORA, January 24: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather convened a weekly DLIC meeting, here to review the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) in the district.
During the meeting, 117 cases of Agriculture Development and 310 Cases of Animal Husbandry Department came up for consideration and after threadbare discussions, all cases of both the departments were approved by the committee.
The meeting further deliberated to assess progress, identify challenges, and frame a course for accelerated implementation of the program for the benefit of the farmers community of the district.
The DC took stock of the progress made under HADP since its launch, meticulously examining advancements in key areas like seed distribution, soil health testing, irrigation infrastructure development, micro-irrigation projects, farm mechanization, farmer training programs, and market linkages.
He emphasized the importance of close coordination between various departments involved in HADP, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs), and farmer representatives.
The DC said that effective collaboration is vital for ensuring proper planning, execution, and monitoring of HADP activities. He underscored the need for increased focus on capacity building initiatives, empowering farmers with knowledge and skills to embrace innovative practices and adapt to changing agricultural landscapes.
The DC set clear timelines for achieving specific targets under HADP and demanded regular progress reports from concerned departments. He assured all possible support from the district administration to facilitate the success of HADP.
The meeting was attended by ADC, CPO and District Heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, and other field officers.
