DC Bandipora inaugurates Small Ruminant Examination Facility of SHD

Sheep husbandry plays crucial role in supporting Rural Economy: Dr. Owais

BANDIPORA, MAY 03:  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday inaugurated the Small Ruminant Examination Facility established under NFB (District Capex 2022-23) at District sheep Husbandry office complex, Bandipora.

The inaugural function was attended by President Municipal council, Bandipora, Basharat Hussain Najar; Joint Director Planning, Imityaz Ahmad, ; Tehsildar Bandipora, DSHO Bandipora, LDM Bandipora and other concerned.

DSHO apprised the DC that this newly built Operation Theatre, equipped with modern technology and facilities will help enhance the sheep husbandry services and provide better healthcare facilities for the sheep population of the region.

He informed that the newly established Small Animal Examination centre will have facilities for wellness check up, vaccination, surgical procedures, emergency care, nutrition advice, diagnostic ultrasonography and other procedures.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of livestock in the economy and said that the Sheep Husbandry Department plays a crucial role in supporting the rural economy.

He said the inauguration of this modern Operation Theatre is a significant step in providing high-quality healthcare services to the sheep population, which is essential for the development of this sector.

Dr. Owais said that this initiative will go a long way in the development of the livestock sector and the overall growth of the region.

He said the Administration is committed to provide the best services to the livestock industry, and this modern Operation Theatre is a step towards achieving that goal.

Earlier, Dr. Owais also interacted with sheep farmers and distributed sanction letters among the beneficiaries sponsored under the PMFME scheme for establishing their own micro food processing units.
