DC Bandipora interacts with Association of Specially-Abled persons, assures prompt redressal of issues, demands
BANDIPORA, December 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday held an interactive meeting with representatives of the Association of Specially-Abled Persons Bandipora.
The session focused on understanding the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and exploring collaborative solutions.
During the meeting, members of the Association, led by president Nazir Ahmad presented their concerns, highlighting the need for accessible infrastructure, inclusive policies, and increased awareness in the community.
The association also demanded the construction of ramps in all the government buildings for easy and safer passage.
In response to the issues raised, the DC assured the Association of prompt redressal of their genuine demands and grievances.
Dr Owais informed that ramps will be constructed in all the government institutions. He further said that lifts will be restored in all three blocks of Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The DC directed the concerned authorities to relocate the AMC medical board from the top floor of Block C to the old district hospital for the convenience of the general public, especially for the ease of specially-abled persons.
The Association expressed appreciation for the proactive approach of the DC and the administration.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, CMO Bandipora besides other concerned.
