DC Bandipora visits Sumbal, inspects Muharram arrangements

Inaugurates Digital X-Ray Facility at NTPHC Nowgam
BANDIPORA, JULY 13: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman, accompanied by SSP Lakshay Sharman, on Saturday visited Sumbal sub-division to take first hand appraisal of the arrangements for the ongoing Muharram observances.
During the visit, the DC convened a meeting of representatives of local community representatives to take feedback regarding the arrangements taken up by different departments, to address concerns, and ensure a coordinated approach for a peaceful and respectful observance of Muharram.
While interacting with the religious Representatives, the DC emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and harmony during the observance of Muharram and urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and follow the guidelines issued for the occasion.
He said that the administration is committed to facilitating a safe and respectful environment for all participating in Muharram and associated activities.
The representatives expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and also raised various issues and concerns, where augmentation is needed in view of processions during Ashura.
The DC reassured the community of comprehensive support and coordination from the administration to ensure a safe and smooth observance of all muharram related activities, including Ashoora processions.
During the visit, the DC also inaugurated the digital X-Ray facility at NTPHC Nowgam.
BMO Hajin informed that the Digital X-Ray facility is equipped with advanced technology, ensuring high-quality imaging and facilitating quicker medical evaluations.
During the inauguration ceremony, the DC said the availability of an x-ray facility at NTPHC Nowgam will enhance diagnostic capabilities and healthcare services for the residents of Nowgam and surrounding areas.
On the occasion, the DC conducted an inspection of the New Type Primary Health Center (NTPHC) Nowgam to assess the operational readiness, infrastructure, and healthcare services provided to the public.
He also reviewed various aspects of the NTPHC and arrangements taken up in view of ongoing muharram observance, including the availability of medical equipment, cleanliness standards, and patient care protocols.
He urged the concerned to ensure that all necessary resources are available to deliver quality healthcare services all the time, particularly during muharram observances.
DDC Nowgam Farwa Ibrahim, SDM Sumbal Aamir Choudhary, BMO Hajin, and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
