DC B’la finalizes arrangements for Independence Day-2024 celebrations

Directs for close coordination to ensure meticulous arrangements for smooth celebration

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 05: In preparation for Independence Day 2024, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Monday convened a meeting at Dak Bungalow, here to finalise arrangements for the smooth celebration of the national day throughout the district.

The meeting held comprehensive discussions on addressing the bottlenecks identified in the previous meeting to ensure meticulous arrangements are in place for the national function.

Key areas of focus included security, march past parade, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshments, medical care, ambulance availability, fire tender deployment, and sanitation measures.

As already planned in the previous review meeting, the main Independence Day function will be held at Showkat Ali Sports Stadium Baramulla, where the chief guest will unfurl the national flag, followed by an inspection of the parade.

Additionally, the DC was provided an in-depth appraisal of the arrangements for Independence Day celebratory functions at the subdivisions Sopore, Uri, Pattan, and Gulmarg. He directed the officers to ensure flawless arrangements for the smooth execution of the celebrations.

During the meeting, Minga Sherpa emphasised the importance of close coordination among the officers to ensure that all arrangements are meticulous for the smooth celebration of the national day.

Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad; Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Diva Dev; Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina; SDMs, besides other officers of police and CRPF, were present in the meeting.
