DC B’la flags-off ‘Swachhta Karwan’ under Swachhta Pakhwada campaign
Mobile IEC Van to tour all Panchayats, spread awareness on Cleanliness & Sanitation
BARAMULLA, AUGUST 06: In a significant effort towards promoting cleanliness and proper sanitation across all the panchayats of the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today flagged-off ‘Swachhta Karwan’, a mobile Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Van from the DC office as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Syed Qamar Sajad; Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat and other senior district officers.
The IEC Van, which is equipped with educational materials and staffed by trained personnel, is set to embark on a comprehensive journey through all panchayats of Baramulla district.
This initiative marks the beginning of an extensive campaign aimed at reaching every panchayat in the district with information on maintaining cleanliness and adopting proper hygiene habits.
During the tour, the Swachhta Karwan will serve as a mobile information center, showcasing audio-visual presentations on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. The campaign aims to address various aspects of personal and community hygiene, including proper waste management, and sanitation practices.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized that this awareness campaign is not just about keeping our surroundings clean but also to foster a culture of hygiene that will contribute to the health and prosperity of our district.
