DC B’la launches Swachhta Pakhwada with Vibrant Tiranga Rally & Swachhta Activities Across the District

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 01: In a significant push towards cleanliness and environmental sustainability, the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, launched the Swachhta Pakhwada from Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School Baramulla. The fortnight-long campaign, running from August 1 to August 15, will see a range of Swachhta activities carried out across the district.


During the launch event, DC Baramulla administered the Swachhta Pledge to all participants, reaffirming the community’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and promoting a healthy environment. The event was marked by the participation of students, officers, officials, and other stakeholders, all united in the cause of a cleaner Baramulla.


In a bid to enhance proper sanitation practices, DC Baramulla, in the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner, Syed Qamar Sajad, Chief Planning Officer, Javed Ahmad and other officers, flagged off 50 Hooper Vans from Boys’ Higher Secondary School Baramulla. These vans will be instrumental in collecting garbage from households, ensuring efficient waste management across the district.


The highlight of the event was the vibrant Tiranga Rally, led by DC Baramulla. The rally, which began at Boys’ Higher Secondary School Baramulla, saw enthusiastic participation from students, officers, officials, and various stakeholders, all championing the cause of a clean and green environment.


While briefing the media, DC Baramulla highlighted the campaign’s objectives, stating, “The Swachhta Pakhwada is a crucial initiative aimed at fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship. Over the next two weeks, we will implement a series of activities designed to enhance sanitation and waste management across the district. This campaign is a collective effort to engage the community, raise awareness, and drive meaningful change towards a cleaner and greener Baramulla.”
