DC Budgam takes reviews progress under District Capex
Also takes stock of progress on removal of legacy waste & special cleanliness drives in rural areas
BUDGAM, MARCH 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo, today chaired a review meeting of Rural Development department Budgam to assess the progress made in implementation of District Capex, legacy waste removal & special cleanliness drives in all rural areas of the district.
During the meeting, the DC took a comprehensive review of awareness camps organised in rural areas regarding PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Scheme, wherein he also took stock of online registration of beneficiaries block wise in the district.
He highlighted the numerous benefits of the initiative and directed the BDOs to intensify their public awareness campaigns while stressing on the importance of mass outreach.
On the occasion, DC also reviewed the physical and financial progress of Capex budget allocated block-wise. He directed all the concerned officers to complete the remaining work physically and financially.
He stressed BDOs to complete the pending works vigorously and to induce extra efforts to achieve the desired results.
Additionally, the DC conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing legacy waste removal efforts across the district. He assessed the progress made under the waste management plan and directed officials to expedite the removal process.
He also emphasised the need for sustainable waste disposal practices and encouraged community participation to maintain hygiene in villages.
The DC stressed officials to ensure proper waste segregation and disposal mechanisms to prevent future accumulation. He also directed them to remain committed towards enhancing sanitation facilities.
Besides, General Manager DIC Budgam, CPO, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineer REW, all BDOs attended the meeting.
