DC Budgam takes stock of facilities at Craft Tourism Village Kanihama
Interacts with artisans, seeks their inputs for further upgradation of Common Facilitation Centre
BUDGAM, JANUARY 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today visited Craft Tourism Village, Kanihama to take stock of facilities for artisans as well as visiting tourists.
On the occasion, the DC witnessed live demonstration of Kani Shawl making and interacted with local artisans.
He inspected various facilities and reviewed the functioning of the Common Service Facility and other units at the Craft village.
The DC also took stock of improvement and upgradation works under execution, stressing on its speedy completion.
He instructed concerned to carry out improvement works at the earliest.
He directed concerned to ensure all facilities are in place and smooth functioning of library, cafeteria and other facilities for both artisans as well as tourists.
DC emphasised on installation of signages, creative works, availability of background history of Kashmir crafts particularly Kani Shawl weaving for easy understanding of visiting tourists.
Among others, CPO Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad, Officers from Textiles, AD Handicrafts, XEN KPDCL, BDO and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
