DC chairs DLSC meeting at Anantnag
ANANTNAG, August 03: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, S.F Hamid today chaired the District Level Screening Committee (DLSC) on District Irrigation Plan under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) at DC office, here.
Chief Agriculture Officer Ananatnag, who is also Member Secretary DLSC briefed the participants about the District Irrigation Plan 2023-28 and deliberated on various parameters incorporated in the Plan.
The DC while speaking on the Implementation of District Irrigation Plan stressed upon achieving convergence of investments in irrigation at the field level, enhance the physical access of water on the farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation (Har Khet Ko Pani), Integration of water source, distribution and its efficient use, to make best use of water through appropriate technologies and practices, Improve on-farm water use efficiency to reduce wastage and increase availability both in duration and extent.
He also stressed on enhancing the adoption of precision-irrigation and other water saving technologies (Per Drop More crop) and enhancing recharge of aquifers and introducing sustainable water conservation practices.
S.F Hamid while approving the District Irrigation Plan with proposed budget requirement of Rs 1265 Cr. instructed that physical implementation unit for DIP should be the “Block” and directed to formulate one data monitoring cell for appraisal of its day to day progress.
