DC chairs reviews action plan for installation of Smart Meters in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 18: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, led a meeting with district officers and civil society members  to deliberate on the installation of smart meters.

Senior Superintendent of Police Joginder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, other concerned officers, along with civil society members attended the meeting.

During the meeting, SE JPDCL Circle-III Batote, Vikas Anand, briefed the DC on the benefits and functioning of smart meters, emphasizing their accuracy and efficiency. He addressed queries from the civil society representatives.

The DC assured stakeholders that introducing smart meters aims to bring transparency and precision to power consumption measurement. The initiative seeks error-free readings and optimal electricity utilization. The DC directed officers to raise awareness and conduct demonstrations to highlight the utility and advantages of smart metering for a consistent electricity supply. Emphasizing motivation, she sought cooperation from the general public for the installation of smart meters.
