DC conducts extensive tour of remote areas of Ladha Dhar, inspects ongoing pace of work
UDHAMPUR, February 28: To monitor the status and progress of ongoing developmental works being executed by different sectors in the District, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna conducted an extensive tour of remote areas of Ladha Dhar.and inspected the pace of ongoing works.
Pertinent to mention here that the District administration Udhampur has planned to develop Ladha Dhar and adjoining destinations under its tourist village development programme.
The DC stated that the main objective of developing the Ladha Dhar and other tourist destinations is to attract the tourist footfall as the area has huge tourism potential.
The DC also interacted with PRI members and the general public of the area and listened to their demands. They demanded construction of a road from Chennai to Ladha Dhar and Ladha to Natha top. The DC directed the stakeholder departments to work out a holistic plan in consultation with the PRIs for its smooth implementation.
The Tourism department was directed to sensitise the people about the home-stay system to grab this opportunity and become partners in promotion of the lucrative tourism sector in the area.
Responding to the demands, the DC assured them that all the genuine demands will be redressed on priority basis.
