DC conducts grievances redressal camp at Devika Ghat

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 07: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today conducted a public darbar cum Grievances Redressal Camp here in the Conference Hall of Devika Ghat.

President Municipal Council, Dr. Jogeshwar Gupta; Chief Planning Officer, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar; Executive Engineer, UEED, Vijay Singh; Tehsildar Udhampur, Jai Singh; EO Municipal Council, Dalip Abrol;  Ward Councillors besides civil society members of Udhampur town attended the public  Darbar.

Elected representatives and locals of Udhampur town raised several issues which included restoration and black topping of link roads and lanes within the Udhampur town, shifting of meat market, beautification of the town, development of Ghats, construction of bridge near Cremation Ground and removal of encroachment etc.

After patiently hearing the issues raised by the councillors, the DC asked them to furnish an inventory of ward wise issues to enable the concerned departments to address the same at an earliest.

Accordingly, the concerned officers were directed to resolve the issues on priority basis.

Later, the DC planted a tree in the premises of Devika Ghat.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that tree plantation is an integral part of environment conservation and everyone should plant at least one tree in a year and play a role in protecting nature.
