DC Doda distributes Nutrition Kits to TB Patients
DODA, MARCH 19: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today distributed nutrition kits to seven Tuberculosis (TB) patients, utilizing funds from the District Red Cross. The initiative, held at the DC Office Complex, aimed to provide essential nutritional support to TB patients, reinforcing the role of a balanced diet in strengthening immunity and accelerating recovery.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACR), Sunil Bhutyal, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Om Kumar, and officials from the health department.
During the interaction with the patients, the DC emphasized the importance of consuming hygienic and nutritious food to aid in their recovery. He also highlighted the significance of early detection, regular medication, and preventive measures in controlling TB. Stressing the need for widespread awareness, the DC called for collective efforts to eliminate TB from Doda district under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). He commended the district’s progress in TB elimination and urged continued vigilance and proactive measures to ensure a TB-free community.
Furthermore, the DC directed the health department and field officers to intensify their outreach efforts, ensuring that all TB patients receive timely medical assistance, proper nutrition, and social support. He also urged community members to play an active role in identifying symptoms and encouraging early diagnosis to prevent the spread of the disease. The initiative aligns with the broader national mission to eradicate tuberculosis, reinforcing Doda’s commitment to public health and disease control.
