DC Doda flags in Shanti Yatra
DODA, September 19: In a joyous celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Department of School Education organized a rally -Shanti Yatra 2023″ in Doda.
The rally aimed to spread the timeless principles of peace and non-violence championed by Mahatma Gandhi. The journey commenced from ASSAR, starting a symbolic journey that originally began in Anantnag district and wound its way to Doda through various destinations.
The Shanti Yatra was received by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan at the Dak Bunglow along with Chief Education Officer, Parshotam Kumar Goria and other officers. The primary objective of the Yatra was to create awareness about Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and demonstrate their relevance in our modern world.
The participants marched through the streets of Doda, holding placards adorned with inspiring quotes from Mahatma Gandhi and chanting slogans advocating peace and harmony. The rally’s overarching goal was to inspire individuals to embrace the path of non-violence and actively contribute to building a more peaceful society.
In Anantnag, the event was inaugurated at Govt Girls Model Higher Sec School (Ranibagh). The Principal Secretary of School Education and Higher Education, Alok Kumar, along with other dignitaries, including Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, and Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir, graced the occasion. The Shanti Yatra-2023 aimed to foster harmony and understanding among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
The yatra involved students, teachers, and NCC/NSS volunteers from various educational institutions across the district. The Principal Secretary stressed the importance of education in promoting peace and prosperity, highlighting that education can unite people and bridge divides. The Shanti Yatra-2023 included educational and cultural activities, with participants visiting schools and cultural landmarks to promote unity and celebrate diversity. The journey traversed different regions of Jammu & Kashmir, engaging with students and communities along the way to spread the message of peace and harmony, creating a transformative experience for all involved.
This heartfelt Shanti Yatra in Doda not only celebrated the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi but also urged everyone to reflect on the importance of peace and non-violence in today’s challenging times.
