DC flags off Mobile Vaccination Van to mark 1st leg of campaign

KATHUA, August 7: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas today kick started Special Vaccination drive under Intensified Mission Inderdanush (IMI 5.0) by flagging off a Mobile Vaccination Van here from DC Office complex.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rakesh Magotra, Dy Chief Medical Officer Kathua Dr.Neeraj Nagpal, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Vasna Sharma & Vaccination teams led by DMEO Deep Kumar were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the special vaccination drive is launched as part of Intensified Mission Inderdanush (IMI 5.0) to cover left out, dropout children & pregnant women with focus attention in high risk areas viz industrial areas, migratory population which were usually not cover under routine vaccination campaigns. He said the special vaccination drive will focus on achieving the target of 100% vaccination in the district. He said the drive will be held from 7th Aug. to 12th August 2023 in Ist phase besides two more sessions will be held from 11-16th Sept, 2023 & 09-14th Oct. 2023.

The Chief Medical Officer informed that all the beneficiaries will  be pre registered on the digital  platform of U-WIN & beneficiaries can download their vaccination cards online. He further informed 2600 children hailing from vulnerable pockets ( families working in Industrial Units, Nomads, construction site workers) will now be covered within one week at 133 vaccination booths established  all over the district especially at High Risk Areas.
