DC Ganderbal reviews COVID-19 situation in district
Stresses for CAB awareness among masses
GANDERBAL, April 04: In view of increasing trend in COVID cases being reported in the Union territory of J&K, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a meeting to review current COVID-19 situation besides assessing preparedness for tackling the pandemic in the district.
CMO Ganderbal briefed the meeting regarding status of COVID-19 in the district and informed that as such no COVID case is active in the district although there is an upward trend in daily positive cases being reported in other districts of the UT.
The DC directed the Health department Ganderbal to remain vigilant and prepare themselves for any emerging situation.
He asked them to activate flu clinics and focus should be on increased testing of all Severe Acute Respiratory Illness and Influenza like Illness cases.
He also exhorted upon the need for enforcement of Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) including wearing of masks in hospital premises by patients, health professionals and health workers in order to curb the infection from spreading.
The DC laid main thrust on generating mass awareness about CAB adding that although there is no need to panic but precaution at early stage is must to combat the COVID infection.
He asked EO Municipal Council Ganderbal to start making announcements on CAB within the limits of Muncipal Council and people should be encouraged to wear face mask during visiting crowded places besides the comorbid and elderly persons should also avoid overcrowded places as a precautionary measure.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, ACD, ACP, ACR, CMO; EO, Municipal Council Ganderbal, MS, DH; BMOs and other concerned.
