DC inaugurates first batch of tailoring training course under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana at ITI Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 06: The Department of Skill Development J&K joined hands with the District Administration Kishtwar to inaugurate the First Batch of Training session for Women in Tailoring under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana at ITI Kishtwar on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav, was the Chief Guest. The officers and officials of ITI Kishtwar extended a warm welcome, providing insights into the ongoing and upcoming faculties within the institute.
In his address, the DC urged participating artisans to harness the benefits of the government-sponsored Vishwakarma Scheme, emphasizing its potential to create dignified livelihoods. He highlighted the scheme as an optimal avenue for artisans to establish and expand their businesses. The primary objective of the program was the official launch of the Vishwakarma Scheme, aimed at supporting small artisans and workers nationwide.
This initiative offers financial assistance, training, advanced techniques, and skill-related guidance, underscoring a collective effort to empower traditional artisans and preserve their invaluable skills.
Key dignitaries present at the event included ITI Principal Kishtwar, Anoop Sharma, and other staff members, including the Superintendent of ITI Kishtwar and the Accounts Officer of DC office Kishtwar.
DC Kishtwar shared that 7000 registrations have already been done under this scheme, reflecting a strong interest and participation in the program. The collaborative efforts of the Department of Skill Development and the District Administration promise a positive impact on the lives of artisans and workers in the region.
