DC inaugurates health camp in Doda, urges public to register for online OPD
Ankur Maitrika Hospital to Offer Free Tele-Consultation for Doda District from April 1
DODA, March 2: The District Administration of Doda is committed to providing access to quality healthcare for all residents, especially those who are unable to travel to tertiary care and super-speciality hospitals for treatment. To this end, a free Super-Speciality medical camp was held today at the OPD Block of Associated Hospital GMC Doda under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program.
Distinguished doctors including Dr. Ajay Wakhloo (Gynaecologist), Dr. Neeraj Mahajan (Cardiologist), Dr. Deepak Pathania (Nephrologist), Dr. Vipul Gupta (Brain and Spine Surgeon), and Dr. Bhumika Gupta (Vesicular Surgeon) attended the camp, offering consultations and conducting surgeries for critical patients who would otherwise have had to travel to tertiary care hospitals.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, inaugurated the camp alongside Principal GMC Doda Dr. Puja Vimesh, Dr. Ajay Wakhloo, Director of Ankur Maitrika Hospital, ADC Doda Dr. R K Bharti, CMO Doda Dr. Hamid Zargar, and other senior faculty members and visiting doctors.
Dr. Ajay Wakhloo, Director of Ankur Maitrika Hospital in Jammu, announced plans to offer free tele-consultation services for advanced medical consultation to patients in the district. This service will be available soon and will benefit patients who cannot easily travel to tertiary care hospitals for specialized treatment.
The DC urged the public to register for and take advantage of various health schemes, including the AB-PM JAY-SEHAT Scheme, which offers free medical treatment up to 5 lakh rupees annually. He also encouraged everyone to generate an ABHA number and Card for their unique identity and health locker to store and share medical records with their consent.
The DC emphasized the Government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the public in the district, with augmented manpower, infrastructure, and machinery at the newly established GMC Doda. The health department has also started tele-consultation services under the e-Sanjeevni scheme, and the contact numbers are already available. The DC advised the public to take maximum advantage of these services.
The DC instructed that OPD tickets would soon be available online at the Adbhut Doda portal to avoid rush and make it convenient for visiting patients.
During his interaction with patients, the DC requested GMC authorities to propose a heating system for the wards under Capex Budget to prepare for severe winter in Doda.
