DC inspects blacktopping, drainage work in town Ramban, directs concessionaire companies to speed up pace of work

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 04: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inspected progress on surface up-gradation, blacktopping work on old alignment of NH-44 in Ramban town being executed by the National Highway Authority of India, besides checking the shops and other business establishments during his field visit under the public outreach programme.
Inspecting the construction work on the drainage system along National Highway-44, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agency to construct the drains to avoid runoff of water on the road. He said that once the drains were constructed, the construction of the road will be started. Stressing on quality work, he asked the executing agency to ensure that the road lasts for years as discussed to avoid traffic congestion and for free flow of vehicular movement on NH-44.
President Municipal Cooperation, Sunita Sumbria, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans lal Sharma, Project Director, NHAI PIU, Ramban, Parshotam Kumar, Tehsildar Headquarter, Harvir Singh, CEO, MC, Sudarshan Jamwal, and various concerned officers and representatives of the concessionaire companies were present on the occasion.
After inspecting the spot position, the DC directed the concessionaire companies to accelerate the pace of work on construction of drains, besides maintaining existing roads for smooth plying of traffic.
Taking action on all the issues hindering the pace of progress highlighted by the PD, NHAI, the DC assured that District Administration shall extend full cooperation for timely completion of the Project to resolve issues and problems faced by the people.
Earlier, the DC also checked various Shops, Restaurants, Dhabas and other business establishments in town Ramban and directed the CEO MC, to ensure that each Dhaba has a license and to regularly check the quality and cleanliness.
Meanwhile, the prominent citizens raised various issues of public interest like the maintenance of the drainage system near Boli Bazar, Bus Stand, District Court Complex; the Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers to immediately take action to resolve the issues on a priority basis. He also directed the officials if any person creates any kind of hindrance in the construction of road and drains, take a strict action against him under extant rules.
