DC inspects development activities in remote Kuchhal, Mughal Maidan areas

Appeals people to avail maximum benefits of Government Schemes


KISHTWAR, JANUARY 15: To assess developmental progress, address local concerns, and ensure the effective implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today toured far-flung areas of Kuchhal and Mughal Maidan in Sub-Division Chatroo.


Reviewing the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the DC directed the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) and Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) to submit a plan for transforming Brij Bagh (Bhandarkoot) and Sattar Vaghi (Palmar) into agriculture and horticulture belts with proper irrigation facilities. He emphasised the importance of this initiative in enhancing agricultural productivity and improving the livelihoods of local farmers.


The DC also visited the walnut processing unit at Mughal Maidan established Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) and interacted with members, discussing ways to improve their operational efficiency and market linkages.


Special focus was placed on the ongoing survey under the Mission Yuva initiative, aimed at empowering youth through skill development and employment opportunities. The DC stressed the need for accurate data collection to ensure the benefits of the mission reach deserving individuals.


The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the KK 2nd km to Loidhar Road and directed the concerned agencies to expedite the construction. Additionally, he inspected the ongoing NHIDCL projects along the Kuchhan and Kuriya alignment, carefully assessing various related issues to ensure smooth execution.


The DC highlighted the importance of timely completion of these critical infrastructure projects, which aim to enhance connectivity and benefit the local population. He urged officials to address any bottlenecks and maintain coordination for efficient implementation, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to accelerating developmental initiatives in the region.


CAO Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik, ExEn PMGSY Kishtwar Rajesh Sharma, GM NHIDCL Kishtwar, and other officers and staff of the concerned departments were present during the visit.
