DC inspects District central Record Room at Fort building Poonch

Directs for timely completion of verification & digitization of records to ensure better record management


POONCH, NOVEMBER 24: To ensure timely completion of verification and scanning of revenue related records in the District, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today undertook a visit to the Central Record Room here at fort building.


The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by all the Tehsildars of District to check physical verification of scanned record available on Land record information system.


The Deputy Commissioner inspected the progress of verification and scanning of revenue records under implementation of Land Records Modernization Programme.


The DC was informed that the process with regard to scanning, preservation of revenue documents, data entry of latest Jamabandi and updation with latest mutation records besides digitization of maps with latest data is going on at a fast pace.


While interacting with the Revenue functionaries, the DC stressed them to complete the task of digitization of records in a time bound manner to ensure better land record management, minimize land disputes and enhance the overall land record maintenance system in the District.


During the visit, DC Poonch, Vikas Kundal, engaged in a meaningful dialogue with the tehsil office staff, emphasizing the pivotal role they play in ensuring smooth governance and prompt service delivery to the citizens.


The DC exhorted upon the Officers to adhere to the timeline of settlement targets and contribute in the preparation of reliable revenue records.
