DC inspects Poonch Fort Building, discusses renovation plans

POONCH, JUNE 08: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today visited the Poonch Fort building to inspect various offices and the overall building condition.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khattak, Naib Tehsildars, and officers from the administration. The Deputy Commissioner discussed plan to renovate the historic building.
During the visit, Tehsildar Haveli briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the history and significance of Poonch Fort. The Deputy Commissioner also discussed potential renovation plans to restore the building to its original glory and ensure that it remains a prominent landmark in the region.
Other revenue officials and Naib Tehsildars were also present during the inspection and provided valuable insights and feedback on the current condition of the building and its offices.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the offices and revenue records and directed the officials to maintain better record-keeping and ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient functioning of government offices. On the e-governance front, he directed the concerned officers to provide all the designated revenue services through online mode only.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the main aim of the visit was to improve heritage infrastructure and tourism in district Poonch and promote the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Poonch Fort is situated at the heart of the city and is a landmark heritage infrastructure which holds a high significance among the people of district Poonch.
