DC inspects progress of beautification works at Sports Stadium, Ganpat Bridge Doda

DODA, JANUARY 10: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh on Friday conducted an extensive visit to the Sports Stadium Doda and Ganpat Bridge to inspect the progress of ongoing construction and beautification projects.


During the visit, the DC reviewed the facelift work at the Sports Stadium, emphasizing the importance of enhancing its aesthetic and functional appeal ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. He also assessed the development of the walkway, parking facilities, riverfront park, and the selfie point under construction near the bridge, aimed at promoting tourism and improving the town’s infrastructure.


At the Sports Stadium, the DC directed the executing agency to expedite the pace of work while maintaining high-quality construction standards. He stressed the importance of installing the main gate of the stadium before Republic Day to ensure security and ease of access during the celebrations. Additionally, he instructed officials to renovate the main stage in the pavilion area and complete the railing work around the stage to enhance safety and aesthetics. The DC also directed the concerned agency to accelerate the Kota stone work on the seating area of the stadium.


Furthermore, the DC emphasized repainting the stadium walls and interior areas with the tricolour to facelift premises for the Republic Day celebrations. He also instructed the timely installation of hoardings and banners related to the celebrations at prominent locations in the stadium.


Highlighting the importance of creating visitor-friendly spaces, the DC urged the authorities to ensure the project’s completion within the stipulated timelines. This visit reflects the administration’s commitment to improving public spaces in Doda, fostering cultural pride, and promoting infrastructural development.
