DC inspects progress of work on Bhimber Gali- Poonch stretch of NH 144-A
POONCH, JANUARY 05: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal inspected progress of work on Bhimber Gali to Poonch stretch of National Highway NH144-A (Jammu to Poonch).
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the land acquisition cases related to the highway’s alignment and evaluated the progress at key sites, including the tunnel site, culvert constructions, and the construction of retaining and breast walls.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on the project, emphasizing the importance of adhering to prescribed specifications and maintaining the highest engineering standards.
“The upgradation of this National Highway is crucial as it will significantly reduce travel time, enhance connectivity, and provide all-weather accessibility, particularly to challenging terrains and during adverse weather conditions,” stated DC Vikas Kundal.
This inspection aimed to assess both the progress and quality of infrastructure projects that are vital for enhancing connectivity and fostering regional development. It also underscores the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and community welfare as the NH-144A project moves forward.
