DC inspects Traffic Management scenario in Udhampur Township

UDHAMPUR, June 23: To review the traffic management scenario and assess bottlenecks impeding smooth flow of traffic in the Udhampur city and its outskirts, Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya along with SSP Dr Vinod Kumar conducted an extensive tour of different parts of city.

During the tour, the DC visited the areas which cater to major traffic flow including NH,  Dhar Road, Gole Mela and Dudar Nallah etc. He also inspected the idle parking space site for e-Riksha and heavy trucks identified by the Motor Vehicle department in Gole mela and Dudar Nallah, respectively.

The ARTO and Traffic police were directed to formulate a traffic management plan for e-rickshaw and heavy vehicles in these places. He directed for removal of the bottlenecks for smooth plying of traffic. The DC also visited Salmay Bridge and directed the concerned to allow only light motor vehicles on the bridge as a safety measure.
