DC inspects upgradation, Development Works on Doda-Khellani stretch of NH

DODA, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the new Doda-Khellani stretch of National Highway, here. During the visit, he assessed the quality of work and instructed the General Manager NHIDCL to ensure repair work is carried out on the cracks and damaged areas of the road stretch.

Later, the DC Doda also reviewed the ongoing upgradation and blacktopping work on the old Highway Khellani-Doda road. He directed the executing agencies to adhere strictly to quality standards and expedite the pace of work to ensure timely completion.

During the inspection, local residents apprised the Deputy Commissioner of several issues seeking upgrading of drainage system and the construction of retaining walls at vulnerable points to prevent erosion and enhance road safety. They also demanded blacktopping of the remaining stretches of the old road.

The DC assured the public that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority and necessary actions would be taken in coordination with the concerned departments.

Meanwhile, DC Harvinder Singh visited the Ganpat area to inspect the ongoing development of Chenab river front. He expressed satisfaction over the progress and stated that the construction of the ark will soon be completed, offering much-needed recreational space and greenery to the residents of Doda town.
