DC Jammu stresses rainwater harvesting as crucial

JAMMU, JUNE 15: Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya has placed emphasis on implementing rainwater harvesting in rural areas. Considering the challenges of the future, he says, it is important that all officers involved in rural development integrate rainwater harvesting schemes and initiatives into their work.


In a meeting with Block Development Officers, Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of rural development programs and associated activities in various blocks. He emphasised the importance of teamwork to achieve optimal outcomes and encouraged the adoption of inventive solutions to address local obstacles.


Thorough planning and coordination with other departments were also underscored as crucial factors. The Deputy Commissioner further highlighted the value of local knowledge in overcoming challenges.


Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Shahzada Noor-ul-Ain, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr Vikas Sharma, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh were also present in the meeting besides the BDOs.
