DC Kathua chairs Annual Zila Sainik Welfare Board meeting
KATHUA, JULY 06: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rakesh Minhas today chaired the meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board and reviewed implementation of schemes meant for the welfare of ex-servicemen.
Secretary, Zila Sainik Welfare Board, Lt. Col(Retd) J.S Chahal gave a detailed resume of the functioning of the Board.
While reviewing the functioning of g the district board, the DC sought action taken report so as to evaluate the progress made under key issues highlighted in the last board meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon the Board to schedule regular meetings in a year so that redressal of issues can be ensured in a time bound manner. He also called for organising meetings at block and tehsil level to acquaint ex-serviceman community with latest schemes and procedures.
The Ex-servicemen present in the meeting apprised about various issues and sought intervention of the district administration in redressing these at the earliest.
Earlier, Secretary Zila Sainik Welfare Board highlighted issues such as inclusion of data of left out Armed License holders of retired Armed personnel, construction of boundary wall of district board office, widening of link road to District Board Office, construction of a War Memorial at appropriate location in Kathua town etc.
The DC assured them of every help from District administration in redressing their issues and directed the concerned officers to resolve their genuine demands at the earliest.
The meeting was also attended by ASP Kathua, CMO, CEO, DYSSO, Non-Official Members/Special Invitee and staff of Zila Sainik Welfare Office besides other concerned officers.
