DC Kathua evaluates agriculture activities in Border Villages
Visits Turmeric Processing Unit of progressive farmer established under ODOP
KATHUA, MAY 9: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Rakesh Minhas accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer, Sanjeev Rai, on Thursday embarked on a visit to the border villages of Chack Shabbe, Kote Punnu and Sulatanput to facilitate handing over of agricultural equipment and promote the development of the agricultural sector in the region.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Agriculture Officer inspected the Turmeric Processing Unit of Progressive Farmer Dhunda Singh, who also serves as a member of the District Level Committee on HADP. This visit showcased the success stories of local farmers who have embraced modern agricultural practices and emerged as role models in their communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kathua commended the efforts of progressive farmers like Dhunda Singh, highlighting the transformative impact of the HADP scheme on agricultural and allied sectors. He emphasized the scheme’s role in fostering agricultural entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities for the local populace.
