DC Kathua launches “The Shuchita Sangram” as part of Swachhata Pakhwada

KATHUA, AUGUST 01: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas kickstarted the Swachhata Pakhwada, a fortnight long campaign at the DC Office Complex in Kathua today, marking the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability throughout the district.

The launch event commenced with a symbolic plantation drive, during which Dr. Minhas planted a sapling at the DC Office complex, emphasizing the district administration’s commitment to a greener and cleaner environment.

The event was attended by district and sectoral officers, who joined in taking the Swachhata Pledge, affirming their dedication to the cause of cleanliness.

This year’s Swachhata Pakhwada carries the theme “Shuchita Sangram,” which seeks to engage all sections of society in fostering a culture of cleanliness and hygiene.
The initiative aims to inculcate the habit of cleanliness among citizens and encourage active participation from various stakeholders.

In his address, Dr. Minhas highlighted the significance of the Swachhata Pakhwada as an opportunity to refocus efforts on maintaining clean surroundings. “The Swachhata Pledge serves as a gentle reminder of our commitment to a cleaner and greener India.

By dedicating 100 days a year to cleanliness efforts, we not only improve our environment but also motivate others to join the campaign,” he stated.

The inaugural day’s activities included Swachhata Pledges and cleanliness drives across all government establishments, where efforts were made to clear wild growth, maintain proper upkeep of records, and enhance the overall cleanliness of office premises.

The district administration calls upon all citizens, organizations, and stakeholders to actively participate in the Swachhata Pakhwada and contribute towards making Kathua a model of cleanliness and sustainability.
