DC Kathua presides over Block Diwas at Nagrota Gujjroo

KATHUA, JUNE 26: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas today presided over a public outreach program at Community Hall, Village Lakhri Block Nagrota Gujjroo as part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative.


DDC Nagrota Gujjroo Narayan Dutt Tripatthi, ADC Kathua, ADC Billawar, CPO, ACD, Chief Agriculture Officer, CMO, AD FCS&CA, XEN PWD, XEN PDD, XEN Jal Shakti,DPO, BDO and other officers and officials of line departments were also present.


On the occasion, local populace projected the issues of public importance and sought immediate redressal of the same.


The major demands projected during the proceedings of block diwas were filling of vacant post of Government High School Lower Rajwalata, High School Upper Rajwalta, GMS Kandharnoo, and upgradation of GMS Dadwara to HS level, repair and renovation of GMS Kandharnoo. Other issues projected were water scarcity, prolonged power cuts. The locals also demanded road connectivity, gun license renewal, SBM toilets, widow and old age pension.


After giving a patient hearing, the DC assured people that all their genuine issues will be redressed with the active anticipation of the concerned departments.


Responding to the demand of up-gradation of Government school buildings, the DC said that the renovation work along with the construction of the new classrooms would be covered in planned expenditure for 2024-2025. Regarding the staff deficiency, the DC directed ZEO and CEO to make arrangements.


Responding to the issues of road connectivity, the DC asked the AEE PMGSY to take up the repair work of the Rajwalata at the earliest. He further directed XEN PWD to restore the Kandharnoo-Rajawalta road in the shortest possible time.


On the issue of inadequate drinking water supply, XEN Jal Shakti informed that the JJM station will be started soon as the procurement of machinery is in progress.


Regarding demand for construction of SBM toilet for remaining beneficiaries, the DPO informed that the government has started the phase II scheme and the leftover beneficiaries can apply to avail the scheme.


Responding to the Gun license issue, the DC said all such renewal applications are entertained only online mode through the NDS portal.


On issuance of new Ration cards, the AD FCS&AD informed the public that the new ration card will be issued only after the new census and as per the guidelines of the Govt. of India.
