DC Kathua presides over Public Outreach Programme at Aspirational Block Duggan
KATHUA, APRIL 12: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a grievances redress camp at Duggan as part of the weekly Block Diwas programme.
BDC Chairperson Duggan, Neelam Devi; DDC Bani, Reeta Thakur; SDM Bani, Satish Sharma; District Officers and a large number of people were also present.
During the program, several deputations met with the DC Kathua, including Sarpanches of adjoining Panchayats, besides locals. They highlighted varied issues of public importance and sought immediate redress of the same. They demanded up-gradation of schools, meeting shortage of teaching staff, compensation of land, requirement of technical staff in SDH Bani etc.
The DC assured that all the genuine grievances of the public will be redressed on priority basis.
The DC further said that all the grievances in his competence shall be taken into account on priority, and those requiring intervention at higher level will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for appropriate and timely response.
Referring to development of twin blocks of Duggan and Duggain under Aspirational Block Development Programme (APDP), the DC said the development in these blocks are being carried out with a focus on augmentation of public infrastructure including Roads, Health and Educational Institutions besides providing skill enhancing opportunities to the locals.
Stalls of different departments were also put up for public convenience wherein field functionaries distributed leaflets besides briefing the locals about schemes and other initiatives offered by the government.
The DC gave away kits of hybrid seeds to local farmers as a hand holding by the Agriculture Department.
Similarly, Block Diwas program was also held at Billawar Sub Division wherein the officers listened to the grievances of the general public.
