DC Kathua releases Evaluation Study on Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS)
KATHUA, February 27: District Development Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today released an Evaluation study conducted by District Statistics & Evaluation Office, on Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS) being implemented by Animal Husbandry Department, Kathua.
CPO, Uttam Singh, DSEO Kathua, Ranjeet Thakur, DSWO Abdul Rahim and other staff members of DSEO Office were present during the release Ceremony.
The study was allotted by the District Level Evaluation Committee (DLEC) in which four blocks namely Marheen, Hiranagar, Mahanpur & Billawar of District Kathua were selected.
As many as 34 beneficiaries, 20 non-beneficiaries and 20 knowledgeable persons were selected randomly for collecting primary data by conducting the field survey by the officials of DSEO Office, Kathua.
While releasing the study, Deputy Commissioner Kathua appreciated the efforts of all the staff members of DSEO Office Kathua who were involved in conducting and finalizing the said study. He highlighted the findings of the study and pointed out the suggestions/recommendations for consideration of the Animal Husbandry Department for better implementation of the scheme which includes establishment of milk processing/collecting units at block level to facilitate milk producers, conducting baseline surveys so that deserving beneficiaries may not suffer.
The DC suggested that awareness camps at panchayat level should be organized by the Animal Husbandry Department for awareness of the general public about benefits of the scheme.
