DC Kathua reviews arrangements for roll out of ‘Kissan Sampark Abhiyan’ under HADP
KATHUA, April 13: To review and finalize the arrangements for smooth rollout of farmers’ orientation programme (Kisan Sampark Abhiyan) under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), a meeting of concerned officers was today convened under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey here in the Conference hall of the DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by CPO Kathua, Uttam Singh; ACD Kathua, Kishore Singh Katoch; ACR Kathua, Vishav Pratap Singh; CAHO, Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathua and other officials from Agriculture and Allied departments.
During the meeting, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kathua apprised the chair regarding the arrangements put in place for the successful conduct of farmers’ orientation programme under the HADP which will be held from 24th April upto 31st of August 2023.
It was given out in the meeting that a 3-day awareness camp shall be organised in each panchayat across the district so as to sensitize and acquaint farmers with opportunities offered under different schemes of Agriculture and allied sectors.
The DC emphasised upon the Sectoral Officers of Agriculture and allied departments to give the programme a wide publicity so that mass participation of the farming community can be assured. He also instructed the farmers about modern tools and techniques besides generating awareness about the schemes of self employment that have been incorporated in HADP to overcome the prevailing constraints and use different extension methods to motivate the farming community in adoption of proposed interventions in the approved projects.
The DC assured all possible help from District Administration for the successful implementation of the programme in the district to uplift the livelihood of the farming community.
The DC said this revolutionary step of the Government can prove a game changer as it has the potential to transform the agrarian profile of the district.
Pertinently, Govt. of UT of J&K has recently accorded approval to projects under HADP for Agriculture and Allied Sectors with an aim to increase the farmer’s income and to make the UT of Jammu and Kashmir a leading Agrarian Economy in the country.
