DC Kathua reviews implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission
Meeting approved construction of 56 tubewells in identified locations
KATHUA, MARCH 11: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey chaired a meeting today with concerned officers to review the progress of the PHE sector, including the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic, Sanjeev Malhotra, informed the Deputy Commissioner about the latest physical and financial progress achieved under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The mission aims to establish potable water connections and other drinking water assets, including borewells and tubewells.
The DC directed all concerned to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, with a focus on the early completion of all 299 schemes, so that the objective of ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ could be realised. The meeting decided to proceed with the construction of 56 tubewells as part of the District Jal Jeevan Mission plan to augment drinking water infrastructure in identified locations.
The DC also directed the concerned DFO to expedite forest clearance cases, after observing all codal formalities, for schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission. While reviewing the physical and financial progress of PHE sector schemes under CAPEX, Languishing, DDC, BDC and PRI grants, the DC directed the concerned to maintain timelines and to remove bottlenecks for timely completion of all works.
The DC also reviewed all ongoing projects under Ground Water, Irrigation and Flood Control and emphasised the importance of completing all projects within the stipulated time frame.
ExEn PHE, Vikram Dogra; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and engineers from Irrigation &, Flood Control Department and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
