DC Kishtwar chairs DLRC Meeting for Quarter ending March 2023
Emphasis on capital formation in agriculture sector, holding of financial literacy camps in Aspirational Blocks
KISHTWAR, JUNE 22: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today presided over the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting.
The meeting held in-depth discussions regarding the performance of banks during the fiscal year 2022-23. Dr. Devansh Yadav- emphasized the importance of identifying beneficiaries and ensuring the smooth flow of credit to them through the convergence of assistance from government-sponsored schemes and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). He stressed the need to increase credit flow in the agriculture sector.
The overall achievement under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for 2022-23 stood at a satisfactory 137%.
However, the Deputy Commissioner advised bankers and line departments to enhance credit flow under the priority sector, with special attention given to education, women’s development, and agriculture-related sectors. He further encouraged banks to step up their efforts and improve their performance in the upcoming year, 2023-24.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of capital formation in the agriculture sector for long-term growth, along with the need to conduct financial literacy camps in the aspirational blocks of Kishtwar district.
