DC Kishtwar finalises arrangements for Independence Day-2023 celebration
KISHTWAR AUGUST 07: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting of line department officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements for the grand celebration of Independence Day 2023 in the district.
The meeting took place in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex and the attendees included SSP, Khalil Ahmed Poswal; ADDC, Sham Lal; ADC, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani; ACD, DPO, Tehsildar HQ, AO DC Office, along with other district officers and ExEns.
The main event will be held at Chowgan Ground with additional celebrations scheduled to be held in tehsils, Blcoks and government offices across the district. The Chief guests will unfurl the National Flag during the ceremonies.
The meeting held detailed discussions about the flag hoisting, cultural activities, full-dress rehearsal and essential logistic and safety arrangements for the main program at the Chowgan Grounds.
DIO Kishtwar and CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar were directed to ensure the Shahnai Vadan at the venue and MC office Kishtwar in the morning of Independence Day.
The responsibility of the National Anthem recitation was assigned to GHSS Girls. A joint rehearsal of cultural programs and the parade will commence from tomorrow onwards with the final Full-dress rehearsal scheduled for 13th August 2023.
The SSP assured foolproof security arrangements in the district to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of Independence Day. The March Past Practice will be held under the overall supervision of the SSP.
Several other arrangements were also finalized during the meeting, including venue and stage preparation, installation of Shamyanas by ExEn PWD, floral decoration of the venue by the Floriculture Department, Public Address System by DIPR, seating arrangements, deployment of fire tender, sanitary facilities, limelining by EO Municipal Council, and water and power supply for the venue by concerned ExEns.
First aid facilities will be provided by CMO, while designated committees will screen cultural items and DYSSO will take care of mementos and trophies procurement for the participants.
The DC exhorted the concerned officers of line departments to work in a synergised manner and ensure the arrangements are placed well in time.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner confirmed various pre-Independence Day celebration activities across the district, such as a Cycle Tiranga rally, Slogan and quotation writing on public walls, Mushaira and Dance competitions by the Cultural Academy, and a National Anthem singing competition to be organised by the District Administration.
