DC Kishtwar finalizes arrangements for Autumn Fest & Kavi Samelan
KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 14: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Autumn Fest & Kavi Samelan. The event is scheduled to take place on December 19, 2024, at the iconic Chowgan Ground Kishtwar and Auditorium GDC Kishtwar respectively.
The Kavi Samelan is to be honored by the esteemed presence of renowned national poets Sampat Saral and Shakeel Azmi, adding literary brilliance to the event.
The unique event aims to provide a platform for cultural recreation while simultaneously raising awareness among the public about various Centrally and Union Territory-sponsored beneficiary schemes. In addition, the program will include an awareness drive for students to encourage them to apply for vacant seats in various professional colleges and universities across the Union Territory under the aegis of BOPEE.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements and issued clear instructions to the concerned departmental heads to ensure the event’s success.
He emphasised for convergence of different departments to pool their resources for successful conduct of the event and ensuring the participation of about 40,000 attendees including citizens, traders and students, govt officers, Youths etc.
PO, ICDS Kishtwar, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACD Kishtwar, Phulail Singh; CMO Kishtwar, Dr. Rajinder Kumar; DYSSO Kishtwar; CEO Javeed Ahmed Kichloo; and EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Murtaza Mirza, were directed to ensure widespread awareness about the event. Efforts will focus on mobilizing Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), school students, ASHAs, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) members to ensure maximum participation and dissemination of information about government schemes.
DIO Kishtwar, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, was tasked with ensuring extensive media publicity and the arrangement of a Public Address System (PAS) for the event. Meanwhile, representatives from the Cultural Academy, including Gulab Saifi and Avani Sen, were asked to fine-tune the cultural performances to add vibrancy to the program.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, detailed instructions were issued regarding logistics. The concerned department was directed to ensure seamless power availability throughout the event. Arrangements will be made to provide adequate drinking water at the venue. Proper stage settings, seating arrangements, tentage, and other logistical needs were discussed and delegated to the relevant departments.
SSP Kishtwar, Javaid Ahmed will ensure tight security at the venue, while the Traffic Department was directed to devise and implement an effective traffic management plan to minimize congestion during the event.
Key departments were instructed to set up stalls at the venue to showcase and provide information about various individual beneficiary-oriented schemes. These stalls aim to educate the public on the benefits and application processes for these programs.
Additionally, CMO Kishtwar was directed to organize a free medical camp during the event, providing basic health checkups and consultations for attendees.
ACD Kishtwar, Phulail Singh, was designated as the Nodal Officer responsible for managing all arrangements at the venue. ADC Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal will oversee the overall supervision of the program to ensure its successful execution.
Besides, the meeting was attended by senior officials, including ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, CPO Kishtwar, Shahnawaz Bali, and representatives from various key departments, who pledged their full cooperation to make the event a grand success.
Later, DC Kishtwar visited GDC auditorium and Chowgan Ground to look into the arrangements made so far.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and coordination among all stakeholders. He stated, *“This Cultural Fest-cum-Kavi Samelan is not just an event for recreation but also an opportunity to raise awareness about government schemes and provide students with vital information about professional education opportunities. We must ensure its flawless execution for the benefit of the public.”
