DC Kishtwar holds public grievance redressal camp at Nagseni under Block Diwas programme
KISHTWAR, April 05: Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav held a public grievance redressal camp at Panchayat Bhagna-A as part of the Weekly Block Diwas programme today. He also visited the Dimzi Bhattan area and listened to the grievances of the people, directing concerned officers to address them in a timely manner.
The people of Bhagna-A raised issues related to the upgrading of local infrastructure, compensation for land for a panchayat building and PMGSY road, water and irrigation facilities and compensation for damage to houses due to blasting by a project. The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to look into the issues and ensure their redressal.
Dr Devansh stressed the need to strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions to ensure proper monitoring of sanitary workers for door-to-door waste collection. He also inspected the Bhagna Water Supply Schemes, MS Bhattan and historical sites in Sai Draman and Dimgi areas of Block Nagseni. He directed authorities to protect and preserve historical sites and assured locals that the district administration would take up the matter with the Director of Archives, Archaeology and Museum J&K for restoration of the Sai Draman site where the first Buddhist conference took place historically.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised that historical sites have great potential to attract historians, students and tourists and need to be preserved.
The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development/District Programme Officer, Sunil Bhutyal; Tehsildar, Majid Jehangir; Block Development Officer, Anjil Singh; Executive Engineer, Sunil Sharma besides other officials.
